When you do networking online it's different than the way you do it at a live event. There are many different websites for online networking. Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter are three of the most popular sites right now but there are many more. LinkedIn is a great place to send potential clients if they are a little wary about using your services or purchasing from you. You can either send them directly to your site through a link or you can have a button listed on your site that will take them to your profile.

LinkedIn also has groups, but these are specifically for networking. You learn, help, and meet new people through these groups. You will find corporate groups, business groups, and type specific groups.

3. Twitter

Twitter is described as the online water cooler. You still set up a profile but rather than joining groups, you write short updates about what you're doing or about your latest product. Twitter only allows message less than 140 characters so it's very easy to write multiple tweets during the day to promote your business and to form relationships with other business owners.

Networking online is almost better than advertising your business in other ways. You will find people that are truly interested in your business and what you offer when you network the proper way. The three sites listed above are business oriented and will help you grow your business through networking.
