The Internet is a huge playground when it comes to promoting online, but there are as many people offline you can target with endless marketing possibilities. Here are 10 more ways to market your home based business offline so put on your creative hat, round up your resources and let's get busy.

1. School Newsletters

You can contact schools and ask if you can use a small section of their newsletter to advertise. Offering them a small fee may get you a yes instead of a no.

2. Radio Stations

Give your local radio station's advertising department a call and ask if they're interested in outside donations and what are their requirements. You can offer gift certificates, a service or free merchandise as these are all great things to give away for contests.

1. Flyers are a great way to share special events, special prices, or post on bulletin boards. You can share a lot of information, but make sure you include your website link at least once. Use bright colors and a font that's easy to read. Don't make the size to small, because people won't stop to read it if it's hard to see.

2. Business cards are the perfect size to carry with you and you should have them on you at all times. Have some in your purse, some in your car, and some in your home. Leave these on the table at the restaurant's you go to, hand them to the person in line at the store with you and to your friends and family when you see them at the mall.

3. Post cards can be mailed to people or businesses you think might be interested in what you offer. Post cards are a good way to put more information than what you can fit on a business card. You can hand these out to people that might be interested in what you offer.

But you need more than passion, too. You need to be able to market your product and services so they bring in the maximum profit. Marketing is crucial to bringing in sales. Here are some things to keep in mind when marketing your home business.

• Don't expect your ads to bring results like the million dollar brands in your market segment do. Their aim is different to yours with their goal being brand recognition so that consumers remember them over their competition. Your aim will typically be to promote your products and services to produce immediate sales.

One way to do this is by thinking about what your target consumer wants. Is it a bargain? Give them an offer they can't refuse. Is it a freebie? Give them one. Is it to feel more important, make money themselves, and belong to something? Whatever it is your target audience desires, find a way to give it to them and you'll find success right behind.

• Prices continue to rise, so to separate yourself from others in the marketplace, you need to find something other than price on which to base your marketing strategy. While you can keep your price low-and should keep it at a point where people will buy-price is not the only consideration in the marketing game.

Consider benefits, quality, prestige and more when determining your ad campaigns. You probably can't compete with Wal*Mart, for instance, on price. But you can compete with them on quality in many cases.

Obviously, if someone buys from you, they're interested in the type products and services you have to offer. Add to those products and services by offering add-ons to complement what they already purchased and there is a strong likelihood of making additional sales to that same customer.
