Whatever business you decide to run should be something you believe in and are passionate about. You'll have to invest a lot of time and at least a little money to achieve this success.

First of all, if you want a successful internet business, it should suit your skills and experience because then you have a head start. IF you do plan to start something new, be prepared for extra hard work and a very steep learning curve. Affiliate marketing is an ideal way to start a successful internet business if you don't have any special skills, because generally there's a lot of support and training available. However, never assume this is the case. Check it out before committing to anything.

Choose something you know you can commit to doing. There's no point in "trying" something because half-hearted efforts produce mediocre results. There are lots of scams out there, but there are also many legitimate and potentially successful internet business opportunities that will work IF you put the required effort into it.

Choose a business that has a proven track record and can sustain longevity. The worst thing would be putting a lot of time and money into something that disappears into oblivion the next month. The internet business you become involved with should offer you residual income so it doesn't rely only on the effort you put in. Your income multiplies exponentially as the business grows. The business idea you choose should give you multiple income streams. E.g. different products or a combination that increases your income in different ways.
