Be a Stay at Home Mom and Work From Home
If you’re a stay at home mom, you’ve probably wondered if you could find something to do online that will bring in a little extra money and still allow you to focus on raising your own kids and caring for your family. Well, there’s good news. You can, indeed, make money online and still be a stay at home mom.
Write about Your Stay at Home Mom Experience
1. Write about it. There are hundreds of legitimate opportunities for a stay at home mom to earn money writing for online markets. Places such as Demand Studios, Bright Hub or TextBroker , may not pay a lot for each article, but if you write reasonably well, you can find as much work for a stay at home mom as you want and make as much money as you have time for.
Voice Your Opinions about Being a Stay at Home Mom
2. Voice your opinion. Are you a stay at home mom that likes to take surveys and tell others what you think? Then you can sign up with several companies online to get paid to take surveys online. Sites such as SurveyClub can hook you up with all the potential survey opportunities you might want. You won’t get rich taking surveys, but you can certainly make some extra cash and spending money and still be a stay at home mom.
Stay at Home Moms Save the Loose Coins
3. Start saving your change. Okay, it’s not really a money making opportunity, but many stay at home moms know that those stray coins you find on the sidewalk, in the washing machine, and even in the bottom of your purse will add up. Drop them in a jar and watch as they begin to accumulate. You can then roll them, or take them to a CoinStar machine to have them counted and get cash back. Many stay at home moms finance an annual family vacation with this money "making" method alone.
Sell Some Stuff
5. Sell some stuff. Stay at home moms often find a lot of excess items around the house. You can post free and low-cost ads on Craigslist or TripleClicks, or use your Facebook page and the Garage Sale app and post the items you want to get rid of for a decent price, plus shipping if applicable. Many stay at home moms after having sold all their own items, look for bargains at yard sales locally and sell those as well.
Craft Sales Anyone
6. Get crafty. Etsy is a wonderful venue for selling handcrafted items. Make up a few samples and take some good digital photos, then set up your account and get started. You’d be surprised at how many people shop Etsy on a regular basis because they like buying handmade. That makes this a good money making venture for stay at home moms who like to craft.
If You’re a Stay at Home Mom With the House to Yourself
7. Telecommute. If your kids are in school and you have the house free (and quiet) for a few hours each day, you can be a stay at home mom and a telecommuter. There are several good companies who will hire you to answer the phone for their clients and pay you to do so. Check with Alpine Access, Cloud 10 or NTI to get started.
Your Own Stay at Home Mom Business
8. Start your own business. You can create a simple website and sell your own items, offer services, promote affiliate products and just about anything else as a stay at home mom and earn good money. If you’re not familiar with Internet marketing methods, read up on it, learn how to use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies to attract targeted traffic and you can build a solid business marketing online.
Put Your Creative Side to Work
9. Design websites or graphics. Put your creative genius and computer skills to work and become a stay at home mom website designer or graphic artist. You can use the computer to draw clipart, or draw freehand then scan the items. Whatever method you choose, set a reasonable price on your artwork and start promoting your site. New websites go up every single day and every single person who launches one needs graphics of some kind. You could be the stay at home mom providing them.
Try Selling Someone Else’s Product
10. Try affiliate marketing. While the term may sound confusing to a stay at home mom, if you’re not familiar with it, affiliate marketing is simply selling someone else’s products online and earning a commission for it. The way such earnings are tracked is by directing prospects to a special link that’s all your own. Check ClickBank for products to promote. A lot of stay at home moms make exceptionally good money with this type of work.
There are Many More Stay at Home Mom Money Making Options
These are only a few of the multitude of potential money making ventures for a savvy stay at home mom. Find one (or more) that sound interesting and give it a shot.
You’ll never know how much money you can make until you give it an honest stay at home mom try.

Many of these parents are starting to take advantage of smaller, in-home daycares because they are usually cheaper than the larger daycares. Parents also like to know that their child will be in a smaller setting, with fewer children, and more attention paid to their child specifically.
If you don't like the idea of taking care of more children or don't have the space to run a daycare, you may want to think about becoming a seamstress.
